Alright so, My GoW1 Disk is almost broken in half and still works sometimes, If i was to use a friends GoW1 disk and put on my harddrive and then give it back to him and use my disk again, does it actually use the disk or does it just make you have to have it in the tray for the game to work on hard drive?

I think you just have to have it in the tray. I fixed a RROD that wasnt mine and the guy had games saved onto his xbox. I went to play one but it said "Insert disk to play". So
i think that the disc just loads the game then after it reads it off your hard drive. I say its worth a shot to just try it out, their is nothing to lose.

if you install on the harddrive it relies less on the disk while still using the disk. so basicly i reads the disk less and it doesnt spin as fast or overheat ur xbox. it may help worth a shot

ya it does work.. my friend did that with his CoD disc that didnt play some maps and missions
