The shotty battles in Gears 2 are horrible and slow paced in every way in Gears 2. I decided to try playing Gears 2 again the battles are horrible compared to Gears 1. You can't wall bounce any more because RR then shoot was taken away. Two piecing is useless. It's nothing but the B button anymore.

Then in Gears one characters move faster, shotty has faster FR, and RR and shoot works. And because of the melee stun it prevents so much of the gayness of the chainsaw of two piecing.



tl;dr: Gears 1 shotgun battle > Gears 2 shotgun battles

you can still wall bounce if your good

only half as fucking good, and the shotgun still blows, pop shots are useless

so walbouncing is pointless

it used to be the most effective way to kill somebody but now the person can just stand still and aim (1 second bullshit damage increase aim) and shoot you

The shotgun in Gears 2 is soooo much better. The game is better period, just take the time getting used to it and getting good with it, and you can rape shit

dude, im rank 3 post patch i could rape everyone without doing a single glitch, but ever since they fucked up pop shots, and RR and shotgun the entire game blows

There's nothing bad about the patch except for the fact that you can't superman whilst running anymore.

then obviously ur not as good as you think, yes iw ish you could still shoot outa RR.. but since you cant it just makes the shotgun more skilled

only thing wrong with the game is

the shitty hosting system ( its on gow1 also tho), and shitty servers... if they fixed those the game would be perfect

and how about the pop shot? (they fucked it up, gotta hold LT for at least 1 second before the damage magically increases)



trust me i was better than most rank 5's i met, the only person that could truely 1 v 1 me and win in a shotty battle was people who either glitched or were truely better than me

majority of my deaths summed up real quick:
-two piece
-grenades
-chainsaw
-mortar/ hammer of dawn/ boom shot

more skill yeah right, look at a decent battle in Gears 1 vs a battle in Gears 2

Gears 2 people may as well stand still and shoot each other hoping they win because the shotgun is so inconsistant unless you have host

Gears 1:
-shotty shoots faster, more spread, more powerful at close range (certainly needs more skill to use)
-characters run faster, making it hard to hit them
-RR then shoot
-pop shot works
- shoot from hip

Gears 2:
-shotty shoots slower, less powerful, more range
-characters run significantly slower
- No RR then shoot- makes wall bounce less effective
- pop shot- to do an effective pop shot require 1 second in the aim, get you instantly charged, chainsawed, or B melee'd

cliff said in an interview that the number 1 thing he wanted to remove was shotgun rolling (which was basically shotgun wars in gow1) also he forgot to mention he likes hairy balls but i think we all know that one...
