The shotty in Gears 2 is much stronger, just has a lower concerntration area. In gow2 you can litereally blow people across the map if your shot is accurate enough...
In Gears 1 all they did when you killed them was fall apart. I do agree though that the shotty got you waaay more kills, but when you shotty some one in Gears 2 I get way more satisfaction due to the fact thay they're bodies literally explode and go flying

..that doesnt mean its stronger they just made the deaths look different, the shotty in gow2 is weaker at close range, it just has more range then gow1

YOU have no idea wat ure talking about... the gears 2's shotgun doesnt do more damage... and the bullets can go accross the map, not because they are stronger, but because they do not fade, gears 1 shotgun was stronger and could kill people ALL THE TIMES at point blank range
