Did you guys even read anything Epic has said before the release of GoW3?
They are dedicating GoW3 more towards competitive gaming unlike GoW2 where "a girl can pick it up and play".

Even indirectly you can tell they are more serious about competitive gaming than before.

There going to support it more but no way are they dedicating gears 3 more towards competitive play than casual. Just look at the strength of the ars right now. Really hope they do release an mlg playlist though.

Uh....Epic is not really leaning more towards competitive gaming. They have said so themselves they are looking out for the 'casual' player. Though, Epic & MLG are steadily building their relationship, and working on making things better for competitive gaming, but at the beginning that really wasn't their original intention. The MLG/GB GoW community worked together to get Epic to take consideration into making GoW a competitive title.

GoW2 is not really a game anyone can pick up and just be good at right off the bat, no Gears game is. That's more...CoD.

I've been on the Epic forums/GB & following Cliffy on twitter, since WAY before beta was dropped, lots of information about the competitive scene and what's going on behind the scenes as far as Epic & MLG working together goes. But nothing is for certain, it's still in the works.

And if you think they're not helping the casual players, look at Pendulum Lancer and Sawed-off, that's proof enough.

The rocket launcher is not a starting weapon, 2 different things. The way you said it originally made it appear epics cares more about competitive gaming. Which is clear they don't. Mlg will obviously start with gnasher and lancer so the new weapons don't matter for that. What they are doing is making the priv matches better and making LAN consistent to online, which is all they really needed to do. An mlg playlist might not happen though, a lead programmer said they can not restrict starting weapons atm but hopefully that gets added in the summer.

Also, the competitive settings do not come from EPIC GAMES, they come from MLG and the Game Battles community. EPIC GAMES, can only help keep the game consistent for ONLINE GAMING AND LAN GAMING. So again, shut the fuck up. You know nothing of what you're talking about.

Gears of War 2, Epic didn't want to support competitive gaming; thus each and every TU did not effect LAN settings. See the difference? Epic is "leaning" towards competitive gaming. If a company agrees for a competitive scene towards another company, then that company is leaning towards competitive gaming.
You can say the exact same thing for MLG setting up Halo 3 competitive scenes. Bungie just decided that they are more supportive in competitive gaming that they implmented "MLG" and other players' "COMPETITIVE MAPS" onto a separate category for competitive gaming and casual gaming.
JUST because EPIC isn't doing the same thing DOESN'T mean they aren't LEANING towards competitive gaming.
