The movie has already been started, and a director has signed on. I don't remember his name, but he was the directed of all 3 Underworld movies (Pretty Sure) and he also directed Live Free or Die Hard (Die Hard 4).

This could come as an expansion after the franchise is complete, like they did with Halo.
