I started playing when PWI just released. After I hit level 80, I pretty much became a full time merchant, and only did World quest/Daily Gem quest/Cube for experience. Made about 2million coins a day, and always converted it to gold at the end of the month. Saved the gold for events like the Jones event where you can make 3x-5x the investment. Quit in June for real life commitments.
When I came back this Christmas, the gold prices had inflated out of control thanks to the anniversary packs. The packs pretty much ruined my love for the game because I could no longer be a competitive merchant, anyone who spent $50 on the game now could have more coins than my half a year of merchanting. So now that I no longer player PWI, I sell the coins on JSP!!!
I've only ever spent 20$ on the game, which was when I was a newb and really wanted to buy a Seika Reindeer lol. Though I had a lot of coins/items, my actual gear that I wore was walmart quality. Level 90 archer still using an 80 crossbow lol.
EDIT: If you have time to burn, you can still make 4 million coins a day on Lost City inside the Cube of Fate. I know the cube merchant jediknight makes about 8million coins a day in room 46. Too bad mysterious chips economy got ruined by anniversary pack too. I really HATE that event.
