There is not really a good way to test this to see if these new WW mechanics affected the “bugs” associated with how whirlwind AR was actually calculated with dual wield. As this was by far the main reason to use fools in main hand, along with the extra hits main hand weapon did in legacy d2 lod.
As essentially, if fools was in your main hand, the “bug” reference above would help you. If fools was in your off hands the “bug” would hurt you.
It’s extremely unlikely that blizzard even knew that this was happening during WW. So it wouldn’t be something they were specifically trying to solve for, rather a by product of changes they made.
I’d still use rare claw in main hand now anyway, given it’s harder to reach max trap speed now due to no wsm bugging or Awsm mechanics
