There is diminishing returns on magic find .. bottom line is items like griffons are so goddamn rare you could have infinity MF and still take 1000s of hours of MFing to find one .. kill speed is generally way more important but id still strive to have 150 mf or so at least as long as you can keep killing fast

I can back that up. First I started out with a 480mf Blizzard sorc, she was weak and could only mf in a couple of spots. Never found anything.

I have now respecced to lightning, much better gear and an infinity merc. Mf is down to about 250-270 but she's plowing through the content like nothing else.

In the end, as stated above and as a buddy of mine also said, it's a game of statistics. If you kill more mobs you are more likely to find stuff.

Good luck :)

Im running bliz/orb sorc with 340mf. Kil speed is 8/10 and I think I do not need more MF.

Im a bigger fan of full clearing. I run with about 225 to 250 mf. I find more runes than my friends, who use the human bot stategy with = MF and early game launch and early 1st ladder they were much richer than me. One lvled a trapsin from 83 to 87 on ONLY shenk and eldritch runs.

He fully kitted like 3 of us in common end game-ish gear in like a week and made a ton of FG. He would also go into low lvl games and clear his stash for low lvl players like every 50th run.

Kill speed and running whatever your favorite MF spot is efficiently deff beat high mf. Theres a ton of exact %s on MFs chance to increase X drop from Y mob. Focus on kill speed and mob density/superuniques more than your mf stat.

Just picked a random item from a drop calculator. With 100mf Eldritch has 1:49507 chance to drop maras. With 200 mf the odds go to 1:40289. 300 mf 1:36017. So yeah more uniques/sets will drop with higher mf but killing more mobs faster is way better numbers wise. But efficient gameplay and kill speed are better in long run.

So, early on in ladder, I run with low mf 100-200. I want kill speed to farm areas to get uniques, and DR hits really hard for uniques.

Late season, when. Everything is worthless but the rares are huge money makers, I aim for 500-700 and elite snipe TZ for as many magic and rare eth items as I can to ID.

All it takes is eth rep 200ed to have good value, even ln magic items

2os 200ed eth rep elite armor is gonna be huge. Etc.

So since there is no DR for magic, and the DR for rare is much lower than unique, I just stack huge, hoping to maximize rare items to roll godly pieces.

That's what works for me. Idk what works for you
