Frozen orb was one of my favourite builds I've been seeing the blizzard/frozen orb build. Anyone have experience with frozen orb builds? Is it any good hoping to farm P8 terror zones with it.

Pure cold builds with orb and blizz can be okay, but you'll be full offensive build. Best for softcore play.

is there a reco'd build for softcore that uses Frozen Orb as it's main focus? In terms of gearing/skills

Orb is only decent for p1 to p3 games. Beyond that, blizz is king.

Gear is similar to blizz, as long as 105fcr and 86fhr

No build with Orb is going to be better than a Blizz Orb Hybrid or a full Orb. I wouldn't suggest P8 Orb Blizz unless you go full damage spec with a Faceted Nightwing and Fathom. Blizz does already plenty of damage, so you don't need a full Blizz Spec if you can get high end gear.

when you go only orb you have to many points left over. The best thing to do is get a sunder charm and add blizzard.

That's pretty much going to max out your damage for frozen orb. You could replace enigma with a -20/20 armor of the whale but the -20 is really not needed since you can already get monsters resist down to -100 with cold mastery. So the question would become what is better - the +20% cold damage from 4 facets or 2 skills from enigma? I think the +20% might edge it out slightly but you would have to go out of your way to make a pvp jewelers dusk shroud of the whale with 4 facets for pvm which is honestly not that great overall when enigma exists with it's gg stats. It's going to be pretty similar damage either way.

But I'm a little low on resist. Is it better if I drop the Ormus for a COH + 2/20 ammy?

CoH is a temp armor that people use to fill resistances, but it is never the best in slot. Enigma or viper. You can get resistances from inventory and boots.
