Looking to start playing hardcore and would like some build GUIDE recommendations. I've seen countless lists of the 'best' HC builds although I can't many many build guide for hardcore specifically. I assume the hardcore versions of some of these character builds would be a little different due to the safety necessity.

Some of the builds that are more appealing to me are the

Summon necro
Summon druid
Cold sorceress
Some kind of barb that could be safe (maybe conc or high ll ww?)

If anyone knows or has guide for these builds designed for HC play I'd appreciate it!

I did find a nice summon necro HC build from like 2008 that had a lot of insight. However I'm not sure if it'd be the same in d2r?

Build said to max skelly, skelly mastery, bone armor, bone wall, and bone prison.

1 point in amplify, ce, clay golem, golem mastery, golem res.

Does this sound right? I assume all the bone maxes is just for safety, where's a sc builds seems to max ce and amplify with some bone spear instead.

summon necro

max in order - raise skeleton, skeleton mastery, corpse explosion. then, do w/e you want really. i don't use mages ever since they can freeze. i put 10 into golem and 10 into revive. currently level 90 and haven't been close to dying. put a point into bone armor, amp damage, and lower resists w.e you want (i did as soon as each was available to me)

items - leoric, lore, random amulet with resists + mf i found, smoke, homunculus w/ p diamond in it, trang glove, 2x random rings with magic find on them, verdungo's, and marrows
merc has insight in a halberd, hawkmail, tal mask

in hell i have max resists and can raise 11 skeletons with this setup (no anni, no hellfire). some people don't like leoric because of bone prison chance but if you do get stuck with a monster just decrep them until it wears off.

this build can clear any content but bosses are insanely slow and not worth it. cows, chaos, wsk, etc. all you do is amp and then cast corpse explosion once one dies. the radius is nice when it's maxed out and you can do a cow run pretty quickly even with the above budget gear

Tips

1 max amplify damage if possible

2 max corpus exploration fosho

3 only get about 7 skeletons or whatever the magic number is that allows you to teleport without the skeletons being stuck inside you

4 clay golem is the strongest (iron golem made of insight is second strongest)

4.2 the reason why clay is best is because it applies a slow that stacks with decreplify (also holy freeze)




In conclusion: just amplify damage and corpse explode. Teleport around and do the same.

Maxroll has decent guides for most builds. Including hardcore variants. You may want to start there.
