I saw some streamers showcase the new fire druid. I must say I’m kinda impressed. The build seems pretty legit even at 5-7 player games. Speed is slower than sorceress and other cookie cutter builds but you trade efficiency for safety. The build has an army of summons to tank and life is higher than other casters because of oak sage. Check out MacroBoiBoi’s youtube video… he used an act 3 lightning merc too - bit unorthodox but I like.

Best part is you don’t need a sunder charm. Many of the fire skills cause physical damage so you can deal with fire immunes without issues. So unlike other caster builds, you don’t have to live dangerously with negative resists. Also because of how the synergies of druid summon works, you don’t need hard points for the summons, with +skills, they naturally become 1 point wonders. With the right equipment, you can get +17 skills in all the summons. Your grizzly is near invincible at that level. Put those points in the fire skills instead which are more dependent on hard point synergies.

It really seems like a refreshing way to play. Many of the current metas require you to get a sunder charm and then load the char up with minus resists. This build instead max +skills and can make do with less expensive eq. Somewhat a safe build too which is appealing to me since I play HC. Damage output may not be the best but by cycling through all the fire skills, he seems to hold his own.

I'm leveling an SSF right now. Will let you know how it goes. Poison creeper is so amazing in normal. No mana issues and kills everything so fast. I'm going to respec to fire once I get to nightmare.

This is what I’m playing this ladder. Clear speed is very fast. With teleport, I can clear much faster than my blizz sorcs in the past.

Most importantly, it’s really fun. You have a lot of useful skills with different utility so playing feels engaging.

Or if you’re feeling lazy you can just fissure everything.

druid and asn too are both terrible atm. fissure does like 3k at high gear levels and youll need infinity, flickering, and pheonix to be able to leave p1

You have:
1. Fissure
2. Firestorm
3. Volcano
4. Molten Boulder
5. Armageddon

And an army of summons. When you run armageddon, cast fissure then volcano, then spam molten boulder and/or firestorm, repeat, the damage adds up very fast. Then you have an army of summons.

You can easily clear p1 terror zones with budget gear but yes it’s get pricy once you you try to do tz with +p1.

i know how the class plays. its slow and clunky and low damage and the summons are useless.

all the spells need more damage, and shoulda gave drood like fire nova spammable and up the range on arma big time. pop arma, keep fissure on cd, and spam fire nova. woulda been fun playstyle

That’s the thing, don’t go for flickering flame or pheonix. Maybe a ravenlore but this build can be good with cheap gear. Go for the plus skills, instead of minus resists. Hoto, spirit, “rain” armor, magefist. Shako is cheaper now because everyone is buying flickering flame. No need to mac fcr breakpoints since every skill is on cool down. So you can get a +10 caster amulet instead of 20. Druid torches are among the cheapest. Load up the inventory with druid summon charms which arw also very cheap. Don’t need a sunder charm. p1-3 with a very safe style of play, let’s go.
