No, but it will reroll for the auto mod again (0-2). So you may end up with a +2 again. Odds are based on character level. That is on top of the possible magic roll for possible +4 total.

Anyone who says use diadems on imbue quest is wasting their high level imbue. The character level plays a large part in the staff mod rolls, so high level characters should be imbuing items that could roll into godly rare items with the right staff mod rolls (druid pelts, sorc orbs, barb helms, etc.) Diadems are always high enough ilvl for any roll you want due to its magic lvl and should always be done on a fresh level 8 character.

to be quite frank the best item in the game to imbue right now would be non-class specific eth javalins noting you only need 2 mods (Cruel 300ed and Masters 150ed) to strike it super rich (450ed Eth Javs for PvM players that WILL pay you for this). All other imbues must have more then 2 mods to be worth serious fg.

the next best would be eth maiden, ceremonial or matri javs, which need 3 (cruel, masters and repl quantity). afaik you need to be at least lvl 74 (i wont confuse with lvls 69 and 73) to imbue them.
