definitely guillaumes: CB and DS give lots more dmg, 30 fhr on guillaumes also improves fhr by 5 frames (since there are no other sources on the gear)
cool thing about CE: it scales with the additional monster hitpoints on higher difficulties
bad thing about CE: it does NOT scale with additional hitpoints due to player count! monsters in P8 have 4.5 times as many HP as in P1, but only their P1 hitpoints are considered for CE dmg. lets assume 50% physical res and 50% fire res for a monster. CE deals (min/max/avg)=(70/120/95) dmg in terms of % P1 monster health. in P8 with infinity and amp this changes to
(70/120/95)*1/4.5*(1/2*1.5+1/2*1.35)=(22/38/30)
so on average you need to cast CE 3-4 times to produce another corpse by yourself. not really a train...
this also means your merc has to do quite a lot of dmg and therefore also tank a lot. that's why i mentioned fhr above, he will get hit sometimes. also with the proposed setup, he has no sustain in form of life leach. so you might switch to life tap once in a while to keep him alive, meaning that you cant use amp all the time, leading to even lower dps
