Was wondering if it would be any good in players 8, especially terror zones. Or maybe orb/nova?

In my opinion their are to many fire resists monsters to start with fire. Further, I wouldn't try to multiple types of damage because your damage will feel weak. Especially on players 8.

on players 8 at league start I would be blizzard. I don't see any other options with sorc as it's a league start and we have no gear.

This is not a realistic expectation. You'll need end-game level gear to be good on players 8 with a hybrid sorc build (if that is even possible with orb as one of the skills).

I'll be speccing to fire once I reach A5 Hell this ladder start but I won't be expecting to do players 8 until I gear up.

orb/nova would be trash even with end game gear
nothing has changed in pvm in 20 years except that foh is viable

cheap ----> blizz
expensive -----> lightning

lightning > nova
