Just curious

What is so good about fortitude? Why is it the typical armor that people put on their Merc?

I have chains of honor that I'm using now for my Merc since I've got enigma for my pally

Thanks for any info

More raw damage from the 300% enhanced damage.

If your mercenary needs resistance badly, focus on getting a helmet with one and/or getting some life steal on it.

Most of mercs, that can afford it, use forty. Big damage boost, nice resistances and great def. Best merc armor in most chars.

u only go for coh if u dont rely on the merc for dmg and r using a wep/helm combo that doesnt provide ll - for example infi+delirium

Forti is preferred for raw stats (dmg, some rest, def). Some people fail to consider what they need their Merc to accomplish. Few end game builds rely on Merc killing (good example is a nec needs Merc with high CB and attack speed to be a viable boss killer). Most mercs just need to stay alive, which means coh can with well to add res+life leachband still have a lot of damage vs most monster types.

I use coh on Merc when he needs fire absorb like in Chaos and helm is steel shade. I also use on Java Merc with same setup for hydras on baal waves.
