I am about to hit lvl 30 on my HC ladder Barb and I am trying to decide between leveling as a Singer Barb or WW Barb. I have the following gear farmed for these builds.
WW Barb
2xBloodLetter Gladius +3WW/+3 SM
GFace
String of ears
Goblin toe
and decent gloves for leveling
Angelic rings and ammy for early AR


Singer Barb
2xSpirit Swords
Viperskin 35/12
Peasant crown/lore
Eye of Etlich
2x10fcr rings
Magefist

My question is which build would be the easiest and safest way to level all the way to Hell.

I've read that wc barbs are very mana hungry .. and i just messed around with the skill calculator.. even with 20 points in wc and 10 in the 3 synergies - which are not shout, bo or bc - war cry deals about 430 average damage. That's when you are level 70. You are just hitting 30.

I think it's safe to say that war cry is something to do only if you're doing an experiemental run and have the absolute best gear to do it .. and won't mind if it doesn't work. If this is your only character, you don't want to buy gear, rush or leveling services (which i ofc think you shouldn't either way), and you're playing through for fun, you'll save yourself a lot of suffering by choosing whirlwind.

I've played through hardcore since reset now (d2lod), level 62 now, using concentrate all the way. Very safe choice. Was lucky enough to find ribcracker which absolutely destroys everything, along with vastly increasing defense combined with concentrate. So i am hitting about 5000 defense, which lowers chance to be hit to about 30% in early hell mode when attacking, which isn't bad.

Thanks for the input I will probably burn the first respec on the WW build and if it doesn’t work out then can always respec.

I personally really enjoy WC barb, It works fine in NM (assuming you have a decent insight merc setup). Hell gets tricky
