I typically start ladder with Sorc or Pally but was thinking of running a light Javazon whenever the reset happens.

I plan to get enough gear to run hell cows, shenk, Eldritch and Pindle.

Anybody every start ladder with this strategy and have advice on what gear to target early? And is it worth starting ladder with a Javazon?

I know it’s a loaded question but hopefully I don’t get any responses from the d-bags on jsp. Unless they are legit answers.

She is a fine starter. Ideally you with you a group so you can get to the trio fast. Otherwise I always stayed in nightmare for a few main items. I farmed Chaos and the trio in nightmare for most items before moving on. If you not in a group the only thing that could be an issues is a lot in act 3 are light immune. So make sure to get a lower res wand and I always started with a valk.

Items it depends for you but for items

early wise if you find ceremonial java's (white) and use your imbue quest and hopefully you will get replenish on them until you find a titans.

Rings: raven frost/dwarf star are both good.

gloves: once you get to hell you can buy 3/20 gloves if you willing to farm charsi. Before that Bloodfist gloves are great.

Boots: early frw with res. Otherwise Silkweave to help with mana or wartravs for mf. Aldurs are great as well.

shield: ancients pledge - into rhyme (can not be frozen) once you have raven frost i would switch to mosers if possible then spirit shield or if max block (hardcore mostly) a stormshield.

helm: Lore - Valk wing - shako - griffons

armor: stealth / peace / smoke (if you need res)/ trech ( if you want to push for faster ias) Coh/nigma

amulets + skills until highlords

belt: razor tail or Thundergods ( i use Tgods because hardcore but if you want full damage razor tail maxs out pierce.

So yeah pretty basic over all. Just when you got titans you are pretty much set. You don't need to up them or get eth. But it does help the physical damage.

For sure man. That sounds fairly easy to acquire most of those items for cheap early on. I’m sure I can at least get by and farm cows before titans. Do you stack some MF or go zero MF build?

So for pushing I go little to no Magic find. when searching for these items i go decent amount of magic find. usually 3 socket helm and a 3-4 armor. with rhyme and some magic find gloves/boots that you can find in anya shop is enough. Stick to chaos and the trio and you good to go. You can farm cows early but just skip the light resistant enemies. No point if trying to fight them at the early stages.

If you are farming for monarchs or base items take as much of your magic find off as you can.

Java is super fine for HC ladder first char - in general: just watch out for super decent fhr and resistances on your char (ofc max block always / if you find whistans - stick to it until stormshield) and you will most likely be fine with any gear that comes along the way ;-)

+ all the points mentioned above by NikolaasSobey19 - especially for the farming in nm

Thank you, fellas! I think I’ll give it a go this season just to try!
