I am on classic d2 playing a necro. I am a summoner only. I find I need some kind of skill to be able to kill that 1st mob to get my army going. My question what skill would be the most effective with the fewest points into it?
I am talking about in a4 of hell where I cannot get a merc to help out. My golem by himself is not yet strong enough to kill a mob.

Let your merc kill stuff in act 1 then go back to act 4

in classic skellies/mercs/golems don't follow you into the next act. So once you get to a4 it's just you and the golem you make.

Mercs do not follow you on classic not at all. Of this I am positive.

See if you can get a decent bone spear wand (+5 is best). Amp+CE after first kill. Takes forever but it will get you through

Yep in classic you’re army don’t carry to the next act same as merc
