Haven't had much time last month or so on so I've played mostly solo and haven't invested much fg as far as gear. Just hit 80 and wanna switch it up from hammers to somethin that is viable in most areas solo play

yes - its more budget friendly and can clear chaos super fast, not sure about higher player count, after a certain point hammers outperform it. just got to be careful for any non-demon or undead areas as they are a wet noodle unless you mix in hammers as well.

Well, there isn’t that much choice, on a budget.

Hammerdin is most versatile and best with gg gear.

Foh is better on a budget, when farming certain areas (chaos especially) but is not as versatile.

Other builds are not really for general mfing. And especially not on a budget.

Have you done this? I've been contemplating doing one for awhile but the combinations I've built on d2r planner all have lower dps calculations than a zeal version. Although in-game is different as 1 shot mob saves time and isn't about dps versus a test dummy. If you'd be so kind as to elaborate on your build/playing experience or tips/pitfalls. Thanks



My favorite(s) that I've tried was native hf zeal and native hs zeal. I think you can afford the necessities which is grief/phoenix/enigma/infinity merc. Can use cheap nwing or griff and off skillers are dirt cheap. Does more damage than traditional dream zeal build, both in d2planner calculation and in playtest. Really nice that the aura pulse destroys trash mobs and native ele aura + grief/phoenix combo gives really high single target dmg. Very safe as well, with 2 main sources of dmg and (phoenix proc + zeal + infinity actually clears stubborn dual immune champs relatively fast).

i really enjoyed holy fire since the patch. ran vengeance instead of zeal. fun times. not p8 tier tho.

I have one on ladder right now. BotDz, Dream helm, Enigma, Death's gloves+belt, Angelics rings/ammy, 45 res shield (gonna be another Dream) and some max charms = 11k dmg

As with any melee char, you won't clear P8 fast but nothing is immune to you and most things drop in 1-2 hits in P1.
