Hey guys,

im planing to switch from lightning sorc (200fcr) to nova sorc (200fcr).
Im only running CS (speedruns). Worth it?

My eq atm:
Hoto, Griffon, up'd Viper, Magefist, Arach, Treks, Spirit, FCR Amu, FCR Rings

I only switch Treks vs. Silkwave.

Or should I switch Hoto vs Eschutas too?

Lightning > nova

Your build is a meme because it lacks damage. If you switch to nova it will be an even bigger meme because then you can't kill bosses and you have no mana and you have even worse damage. If you do 200fcr nova you will just be using a lot of mana but no damage because you need more -light res

Insight on merc

Nova is a meme on anything above players 3 since it does no damage, so you need to put infinity on the sorc for the -55 light res to help out the dmg a lot.

Lightning deletes everything on p8 even light immunes where you break their immunity and it's the 2nd best boss killer after javazon. But you need cmoon not hoto.

When Lord de seis or Infector spawn unbreakable lightning immune you will need to use your Merc to kill them with either build.

Ahh, ok.
But so 200fcr build makes no sense - with Cmoon i cant hit 200fcr.

btw: I only play solo. But I tried p8 - and it works well for CS speedruns.

you don't need 200 fcr. 117 is enough for lightning.

for Lightning, right. But I made it for teleport. And Lightning has a Breakpoint at 194fcr, right?

yea 194 is a lightning breakpoint but it doesn't really cast much faster and you sacrifice a lot to reach it
having a lot of -light res is very important, hence cmoon on lightning build and sorc holding infinity scythe on nova build
as i showed in my two builds above, you will have 117 fcr for lightning or 105fcr for nova

to illustrate how good -light res is, hell baal has 50 light res
infinity gives lvl 12 conviction which is -85 res
griff can give up to -25 light res
cmoon is another -35

this brings hell baal down to -95 light resistances which means your damage on him is almost doubled
lightning sorcs can kill players 8 baal in like 5-7 seconds after you static him

Another scenario is when you break a monsters immunity to lightning they will still have 95 light res so you hardly damage them, so having -light res on gear adds a ton of damage.

200 fcr nova isn't viable. dogshit damage and too mana hungry

105 nova using infy or cmoon, or just stick to your 200 fcr light sorc if you're not budging on that bp

Cmoon, if You gonna Sparkling Mail, thats on classic.

200fcr nova is viable if you know what you are doing and have enough fg for it. You need to be able to afford 20life/17mana scs and 5fhr/17mana scs along with 12fhr light gcs and 40 lifers.
Need obsession with nova and you can blast through everything in chaos. Yes you might be a little squishy but if you want speed over survivability, you go 200fcr. This is what you want if you are farming for high runes. 3 Player games and smoking everything fast.

If you want to be safe and have no problem doing P8 then you hold the infinity and have insight on your merc. I use both and they are both good depending on what you are going to be doing.
