i've read a great deal of conflicting information on how enchant works. Did anything change in D2:R?

How does it work vs 1) the enchanter herself 2) another player using melee 3) another player using ranged attack 4) what impact extra fire damage has from facets/ormus/eschutas and why/how. is a +2 valor with a fire facet better than a +3 ormus that isn't 15% ed? 5) Is a 2x fire facet 2 enchant 2 fire skills orb better than a perfect eschutas with a 5 fire damage facet?

Arkaine gives +2 enchant and +2 fire mastery, which would be less than +3 enchant and 10% from Ormus, when you put that same facet in it.
