If I want to farm Andariel without my merc dying all the time, what should I do?

Yes I want to keep the merc for tanking andy, so skipping having a merc is not the answer here
I'm looking for merc and item choices

I guess I could expand on what I'm doing right now.

act2 merc with freeze, which I know doesn't do anything really.
Merc has gaze, eth cv insight, eth fortitude about 2k armor.
I could keep merc alive if I spammed pots for him all day, but I would like the merc to basically be selfsustained if that's possible.
I'm considering chaning the gaze for andy's own helmet and also changing merc for hell one with prayer.
question is will this be enough? I'm pondering if the "new" act5 merc would be better suited for this and if so, what items should he wield?

Andariel’s visage should be fine

You could always reserve 1 belt column for antidotes and give 1 so he has 95 pr with Andy’s

High dmg and high life leech should keep him alive so take might merc, prayer won’t do anything useful

Your merc is lacking ias too, cv sucks and maybe replace the cv insight for a thresher one

Merc already have really good items. What character are you playing? If he dies with that eq is because you are doing no damage at all.

lvl91 light sorc. I don't have cta or torch but I have shako, hoto, tals amu, tals armor, goldwrap, chance guards, ww, spirit shield, mf rings, 1 lightning skiller.

Cta would be your best upgrade for your merc, Infinity for you.
Also you can use might aura so he does more damage.

Been thinking about cta a lot. infinity seems a bit out of reach just to farm andy

lightning is the worst tree for bosses

I know blizzard would destroy andy in like 3 casts but I like the ability to do countress aswell, which leaves me little choice on spec

Try thresher instead of CV and try might Merc for more damage

not sure what the ias breakpoint is for thresher but should probably look that one up

Best way to farm Andy with your Merc is to kill Andy in the 5 seconds where your Merc won't even die.
