This may be a silly question,

I am testing some things with my Trav horker WW barb and I want to try an A1 merc with faith or mist.

After 2.4, what is the best a1 merc faith/mist base?

Great Bow was a great bow in the past, so I would guess that Matriarchal Bow would be it now.

Both will waste corpses that could've been horked, no? Faith with "reanimate as returned" and mist with freeze target.

You make a very valid point.

I guess I'm stuck with the ol' Might Merc.

i ask you a question, how often do you think the merc will kill an enemy compared to you. and how often the low percentage of reanimate triggers out of those corpses. just questions.

I guess not so often. But that still doesnt answer my question about the bow!

Fanaticism boost damage, attack rating and ias. Concentration just damage.
For me, its act 2 might aura reapers toll merc.

Reapers also is good but has cold dmg so no good for find item

Oh, you are right, i didn't read the hork thing.
Then botd war pike. (But even with cold damage reapers is not a bad budget option)
