noted's PvP SVA Guide! So after been asked several times by good people in PvP games about what i use on my Shapeshifter, and i think time has come for me to make my contribution to the PvP community in D2r and for all that wish to start PvP in this awesome game.
The Guide will be short and as concrete as possible, but also introduce some different options of taste.
Introduction:Im a longtime fan of D2 and now D2R. Im an only druid player, and my wind are my main and as this guide also suggest secondary the SVA build. Shaper Vs All
My Druid are level 97, you should be aware of this when choosing skill points regarding your Ias on setups etc.
This SVA builds has a decent amount of setups and you will want to use the ias calculator depending on your budget regarding items but also character level.
Ias Calculator:
https://chthonvii.github.io/d2r_24ptr2_wereform_calculator/This build is not over expensive (depends on the stats on the items you buy), nor is it a meta killing machine. But it is fun and creative way of play, and ''when'' they make shapers tele in next patch your ready!
Now let's get into it!
Ias/fcr Setups:In Shaper vs all you want to be able to use all kinds of items depending on your opponent. There is a big difference on duelling a barb using a shield or two axes. Same as to duelling a necro or a sorc etc. I will go throu my two most used setups below.
Main setup up: Hits 70 ias. Focus is to get 5/3/3/3/6 frames on fury attack speed and also hit 5 frames on rabies, all thou it only gives 20 fcr and low res. (this setup not focused on teles but primarely duelling on runs and walks tactic)
Rest of stats are 9.6k life, 14.5k ar, max block, max dr, awsome grief dmg on fury and 37k rabies and as mentioned low res (but will adapt depending on opponent; using res items like tgod's, jalal's, kira's, res gc's etc etc.). Cruhing blow and Deadly strike are 50/50%. Again taste and experience. The Grief (40 ias) will also add up to -25% psn res to your opponent depending on roll.
Secondary setup vs primarely casters: 75% Ias so same frames as above on fury and rabies, 10.3k life, 105 fcr, 11.5k ar, 56% deadly stirke, 44k rabies dmg and still nice fury dmg. (res is same as above, so adapting to whats needed vs whatever dmg you opponent makes, and you might have to accept sometimes you gotta go a breakpoint down on ias or fcr if needed - only way you can know are if you test and find your style of play)
Items:Main setup: Trang gloves, Bk ring, Verdungo belt (dont got ow belt and not sure i would use it, unless very high str, life and res), Raven ring, Amu 3ss 94 life, Gulli helm 40/15 (ed/ias jewel), Grief Pb 40 ias, Upg Goreriders, Wyrmhide Enigma, Stormshield 34/15 (ed/ias) and secondary weapons cta + spirit for bo ofc.
Secondary setup: Trang gloves, Bk ring, Fcr life res ring, Grief Pb 40 ias, Aldurs boots, Wyrmhide Enigma, Highlords amu, Arach belt, Spirit atleast 30 fcr, Druid circlet 2/20/30 socked ed/15 ias jewel, (visio + adds would be nice also on this), and same on secondary weapon with cta + spirit ofc. (I DO NOT use weapon switch in duel, but you could do so if you wanna boost your rabies dmg after hits, but i dont find any need for it and im getting old in the gaming world so gotta keep it a bit simple for myself
Again taste, you can choose gores instead of aldurs (damage or life) etc etc.
FYI: Get angelic's amu and two angelic rings and Cerebus Bite with nice ar and socket cham rune to get proper ar if you meet smiter, hammerdin or high def barb etc. Botd Great Poleaxe will benefit you well vs hammerdins but depends on playstyle. Angelic amu and a angelic ring will benefit you well in some setups in the mentioned above setups, but it can mean replace trang gloves with 20 ias etc or go down on ias frames. It can be necessary vs some opponents, test test test and find your style vs different opponents. You might also want a demon limb to boost your ar even further vs some opponents. I can get mine up to 60k ar with demon enchant, angelics, hsarus belt + boots and cerebus.
Inventory/Charms:9x Shapeshifter Gc's (I use life on mine some might prefer frw) My build also got a setup made for GM Duels where grief is not allowed and there i want to use lifers or i get smashed even more by the pure melee guys. (you could also go the frw skillers way as many do)
10x Sc's Life/Res or Max/ar/life. Frw etc. Depends on what you wanna focus on and how rich you are. (I use life/res sc's)
Torch
Anni
Stats:Strength - The need you got to wear your items. Remember to test all your setups requirements before taking rest in dext and vita
Dexterity - Enough to have max block with stormshield on different setups. NN max block on secondary setup with spirit shield. (It would require to much from your base life)
Vitality - Rest here
Energy - None
Skill Points:The skill allocation is all preference but i do this: (remember to be aware of your level since you need to have a certain amount in werewolf skill tree to reach breakpoints on ias.
20 Lycantrophy (get all the life you can)
20 Fury (get dmg and ar)
20 Rabies (get dmg and ar)
20 Oak (get life)
20 Poison Creeper (get dmg)
1 Raven
1 Wolf
+ Remaining in Werewolf
FYI: If lower level than me then you might accept lesser points in one of the maxed ones. But then go baalrun
(Use ias calculator as mentioned above in the topic to be sure you hit the 5/3/3/3/6 frames) - For new ppl who are confused about this frames still, here is explanation: The fury skill hits 5 times when clicking onces on opponent, and the speed it hits your opponent is the frames. The lower the numbers the faster it hits, meaning first and last 5 and 6 are slowest but the 3 inbetween are fastest. (dont be afraid of playing with only hitting 4 frames in the middel and 7 on last hit)
Strategy/Playstyle:The strategy is pretty tactical. It also varies very much on duelling running/walking, teleporting or both at the same time (i usually do both depending on using offensive or defensive playstyle). The key to succes is playstyle and your tactic against different opponents. Mix it up and be patient. Using secondary build you want to get in and hit with rabies and tele a bit away. Dont be afraid to commit on fury attack. your life are BEAST! just rememeber to recast oak often if barb goes after it, or it dies by other attack from opponent (i tend to find it easy to control ppl's movement if they go for my oak first most of the time) If your low life wait for him to die by rabies, but if your high life just let him come to you and fury him when he either get close or stomps you. You will have to be quick on keyboard to rapidly turn wereform on, and hit opponent but thats where tactics get into play again. Lure them in! 1 hit are all it takes sometimes:) Expect them to come to you.. dont run all over moor after them... you are WOLF and your are the underdog untill you become the Alpha
My apologises if not proper english sometimes.. the short answer to that is; I aint
Any feedback or questions are encouraged! This guide also embrace for PvM build if your searching for that. Thanks for reading this and hope it was helpfull to you, and I hope to see you in the moor as SVA!
