Using https://d2.lc/IAS/ to calculate ias breakpoints.

I have a Faith bow on my merc with lvl 14 fana. According to this, lvl 14 fana gives 33ias

So can you explain what is going on with this ias calulator?

With no fana I would need 163ias for 10FPA.




With lvl 14 fana I would only need 52ias. But I thought fana only gives 33ias. How is it so much lower?

Ias on gear has to be converted in a diminishing returns formula into Skill ias. Therefore skill ias is far greater than ias on gear.

Fana doesn't work like that. That's why that calculator have different options:

-weapon ias
-off weapon ias
-level of fantacisim...

yea who woulda thought that 33ias meant 33ias

Attack speed gets a bit complicated in diablo 2, that's sure

These are just classifications. Yes, you're 100% correct. SIAS and WSM have same units so they are simply added or subtracted. The reason they are used in a formula because this avoids confusion where the numbers are coming from; It doesn't make any sense to call Fana WSM when there is WSM for each weapon, that would cause a lot of confusion, thus Fana is called SIAS

Tbh to me it only sounds more confusing to call it ias cos it doesn’t function anything like ias does
