Best sorc will always be light because of infinity, since that is your topic of "best" sorc build atm.

Orb/fireball/meteor or orb/hydra has always been a good build. Just something not played because it doesnt fit into the meta of light sorc/hammerdin/java zon.
Orb has low syngeries which allow you to get decent fire damage to easily kill immues.

infinity boosts fire dmg equally to lightning dmg, what do you mean by that?

Light Immunes are more broken than Fire because Fire Immunes in Hell have a higher set number where the Conviction Aura doesn't break all. So while non Fire immunes will take equally less resistance, you'll still come across more Fire Immunes and do 0 damage anyway. More monsters killed, more damage.

Cold is best early because of easy scaling, pierce, and fewer resistances relative to others in most areas. Then when you get gear you go light. This is the way it's been for years. Hybrid is only good if you're in the preference of farming heavy immune areas at the cost of single damage efficiency, but areas that don't require it will be less efficient.

Second element can also come with Static or a Mercenary too, so your build can deal with the majority of encounters while a combination of light and phys clears through the niche areas you get stuck on.

That's why I choose Blizz Sorc with a Might Merc. Literally farming Countess with a basic Blizz Sorc with a non eth Partizan Insight

It does not.

Monsters hve naturally higher fire resistance than lightning resistance. Thus making you unable to break most fire immunities while simultaneously if you are able to break their immunities, they will have more fire resistance left than a typical lightning monster

Because the amount of fire resistance monsters have and the volume of monsters that have it, fire based builds for pvm are bad.
