Will the cold damage on my mercs duress shatter corpses so i can item find them?

If a monster dies while chilled, there is 20% chance that it will shatter and leave no corpse as long as at least 1 frame (0.04 second) of cold length applied after its cold resistance (but before any difficulty level penalty). This does not prevent it from dropping items, but it will prevent a Barbarian from using Find Potion or Find Item
