I play 4-6hrs 5 days a week and having trouble finding gg. I don't understand how people find 10 bers when I haven't found one. I farm pits AT and cows during runs. After 10 of these I then switch to act1-3 bosses for 10 runs and rinse repeat. I have 230 mf with decent clear speed. Am I extremely unlucky or do I need to get with the program no pun intended lol.

MF doesn't help with finding HR's

A lot of the GG in circulation were found or made with bots or duping.
Now that blizzard have taking a more active stance against it, its almost impossible and thus prices have increased a lot

Yeah I don't know why I metioned high runes and mf together. But that explains a lot. I figured it was some kind of cheat. That sucks. Thank you for taking time to answer.

mf doesn't affect rune drops. The only people finding bers/jahs often are def not playing legit.

Since you are a member here, if you are playing legit, imo best way to "come up" is to find a hustle on here for fg. trade little items people want, loffer services, something. A few fg here a few there adds up to the price of a ber pretty quickly, a lot faster than trying to just find a ber imo!

That said, you are hitting the right area's, if you specifically wanna find high runes, just focus on killing as many high level "quality" mobs as fast as possible. I personaly get the majority of my high runes from stuff like cows, AT, chaos...

certain bosses will have higher drop rates, and are definitely good to hit, but gotta consider the travel time, and the fact there is just that "one" target at your destrinon. In the travel time my light sorc could have mowed down dozens and dozens of cows or mobs in AT etc.

No human will ever be as efficient as a bot regarding MF runs. They can run virtually 24/7 barring any connection issues.

So you're left with two options, either keep what you're doing and hope you'll get lucky some day. Also begin cubing gems and selling unid jewels for crafting or pgems for rerolling, etc. Basically sell everything you find for a small profit.

Either that, or just play for fun not caring one bit about items. If you havent done it yet, try taking a solo untwinked hardcore char from normal to hell. Its much more rewarding. I rarely play anymore, but when I do, its just that. Single pass too, which means no re-running for MF. After a while you begin to appreciate many low items people take for granted (twitchthroe, death's sash, peasant's crown) its a completely different experience.

Although I understand that for some players, finding good items and building good chars is the fun part. And if that's all you're looking for, well, yeah, I don't like them and have never used them but a bot would make more sense. So just put it in perspective.

The faster you kill, the faster things drop.

Mf helps in finding better drops, however if it slows you down in killing, you have less drops overall.

Rune's are found best by killing fast. (and ofc those with a high droprate)

That's been the plan man. I guess i really need to stop looking at the d2 west softcover trading sections. Because it really makes a legit player like myself wanna vomit. Not going to name names. But I've seen a guy have 4 bers selling 4 fg then i kid u not literally 8 hrs later same guy had another 3 bers for sale. Maybe I'm just a hater but man its discouraging. Played d2 for years I don't ever remember going so long without a gg rune or item. Ty for all the info appreciate it.

If you see a guy selling couple of HRs it only means he is probably a duper.
I would never recommend any legit players to farm for HR. It is just not the thing you should "expect" to drop every couple hours. It just doesn't happen like that. a HR may drop after, what, maybe 48 hours of grinding in area 85? or even longer. If you play 4 hours / day, expect a HR maybe once every 2 weeks I guess? But that is just how the game is for every legit players.

Like others have said, do regular MF runs, if you find a worthy item, sell it for fg. and later use fg to buy the HR you need. For most of us, without trading, we will not gear up that well. I would never expect myself to find jah+ber in 3 months or maybe the entire ladder. What if I find ohm or sur or Lo? I need to trade them for jah and ber. Trading is your friend.
