I'm going to opt for a windoforce on zon and faith on merc build, but that being said I'm still struggling with equipment choices and would appreciate some advice:

Helm: 30frw 3soc tiara seems like overkill for pvm, what are good alternatives? Kira's? Andy's? Giantskull?
Weapon: Windforce (my question here is what to socket in it? the ias calculator I used indicated I needed 95 ias whether I used a shael in the bow or not....so I mine as well go ohm? Lo? Ber even? Additionally this was only if I attacked regularly, if I'm using strafe I need much less IAS, having never played a bowzon, will I actually not use strafe at times and attack regularly? Seem's like a waste to max it and then attack with my standard attack...
Armour: Fort
Ammy: Atma's
Belt: Razortail
Gloves: Laying of Hands
Boots: War Travs I hear are the best but I suppose these won't make or break my build
Rings: Ravenfrost? Rare dex ring?

Merc

Helm: Giantskull (I'm assuming this is the best...)
Weapon: Faith Great Bow
Armour: Coh

Thoughts? Any tweaks? Never made a bowzon....might be the one build I have absolutely no idea about

If you don't want to buy the 30frw helm, just use a regular 3soc helm. Or guillaumes. In the bow, if you don't want more ias, use a dmg jewel. For your merc helm, you need life leech on the merc. Survivability is the key thing, since she's pretty much just an aura totem. Make sure she's an ice arrow rogue.

You will use strafe all the time, and guided arrow for bosses. You may consider sticking a perfect Skull in it for dual leech. If you're a rich bitch and don't mind buying bot found stuff (i.e. no ethics ^^), 40%ed/15max jewel should be a good idea.

I've never tried a Jah rune in Windforce, but it does sound like an intriguing idea. Ignore Target's Defense is extremely useful, it makes every arrow pierce, thus triggering Chance to cast Amplify Damage from Atma's much more often, which in turn doubles your damage. So once again if you are a rich bitch, try it. Never tried Windforce and Faith merc. Report back your damage output.

If you don't use Kira for resistances, you will be very vulnerable to elemental attacks. 3/30 i've never understood the purpose of. Overpriced piece of crap ^^ Just get 10max/xxar/7%frw grand charms and similar small charms.

If you use Kira for helmet, you will have Cannot be frozen there, so you don't need a Raven frost for that purpose. You should use a Wisp projector for Heart of Wolverine, for extra damage, and lightning absorb (defensive measure). The second ring slot is optional. A good rare ring is helpful, preferably with very high resists. You must use a dual leech one if you don't use perfect Skull in the Windforce. Potting late game is a disgrace.

Rest of the setup is golden.

You obviously don't play zons. Please GTFO.

No matter what you think about my knowledge about Zons, -your- knowledge about respect and sharing information, and just being human in general, are non-existent. How fucking depressed must you be to inherit such a negative perspective on life ...... I can only wonder. It does really make me sad, and i feel bad for you.

I will refrain from reporting you both now, but please make an effort to adopt a better attitude in the future. It is just so ridiculous to read such answers. I know what i'm talking about, if you think you know better, then just give me the answer, and i'll decide if i'll take the knowledge or not.

Kira's on a zon

You know, YOU'RE the one getting triggered. I'm the one trying to teach you how to interact with people, since nobody obviously have shown you yet in life. Just because it's the internet, doesn't mean you have the right to offend people and shut off your brain.

If you want to be as vulnerable as a fly to a blowtorch in hell mode, be my guest. Kira's is almost a necessity in hell mode. You don't have many hit points as a zon. You shouldn't be tanking, but it is practical to be able to tank a hit or two in ranged combat with elemental enemies. My necromancer now has 50% fire res, and taking about 70 damage from the Demon Imp's fire bolt attack. Venom Lord's Inferno attack may deal big damage too. I'm not standing still waiting for the attack to happen, but there's also the issue of lag. There may be miscalculations from the player's side. I've played my zon by hand (no multiplayer games, no baalruns) to level 89 now in HC, so i really do know what i'm talking about. I don't really give a damn what people say unless they're trying to teach me something.

But of course i am writing with the general understanding that we are -not- assuming everyone is using high-end bot-farmed bullshit items like 40 x 3/20/20's and stuff like that, which would cost thousands of fg. Because it is extremely unrealistic that a newcomer have any knowledge about that bullshit, and frankly, they shouldn't either.
