No, the + and - % damage does not apply to your traps, only Shock Webs.

You're using it for it's fcr, not for the +% dmg it gives.
Socketing it with a facet is useless, use Cham / Lo in it or whatever u like

Yes, griffon works with any skill, build and character class.

yeah, for any lightning based chars ofc. just not works with traps, since traps are considered minions.
