Is Whirlwind melee or not?

If its not, what is it?

Yeah, I remember some melee guys crying about whirlwind not being a melee attack, what shall it be else ? A cast ?

Yes it is melee.

It's banned from the "melee duels" tho because it has a huge advantage over other skills (zeal, conc etc) because it's not stationary.

Well, some melee players are just completely relyign on their equip + luck (zeal vs zeal click on enemy, hold the left mouse button and hope for being the last man standing - very awesome pvp ^^) and therefor they don't accept a matchup like zeal vs ww.
In fact I used to enjoy zeal vs ww duels with my zealer @ priv realms - using charge to position yourself in front / in the ww direction of the barb.

Same goes for fury wolfs, they can also get some nice frw amount and position themselves into the ww direction and then use their enormous range to land hits.

Only conc vs ww is hopeless for the conc player ^^

if the barb is decent he will desynch ww and cross your charge path while you are at 0 defense charging, with 95% chance to hit you while you cant do shit, even if he doesnt do this, a BVB > zealer except if exile ^^

zealer can win bvc/bva fairly though cuz of nonblock/mid def

Ofc it's all about experience and timing, just wanted to point out that it's definitely no impossible matchup for the zealer.

And allowing exile in zeal vs ww might be an option aswell to balance this matchup.
