maybe this has already been covered but can someone explain whether -enemy res or +res dmg is better and is it always the case with all of them

You want damage on Fire, and Lightning always. Physical for melee or range such as Barb, Smiter or Bowazon

Magic can go either way. Same with cold and poison.

My fire druid prefers -enemy physical res to nuke damage reduction specifically for PvP.

It all depends on your set up but thats the gist of it.
