Rare armor, unique and shaft is around 2600 def.

Shaft beats prudence, fort beats shaft.

With 1900 def from fort and 400 from helm and 300 from inv thats 2600 def the same as most go 2 skill helm with non fort builds.

Non eth alma is 500 def, so is hoz and ss.

Could go 3/3/3 weapon but that’s probably not a realistic iso.

In general skills are better than ed but not always.

Don't forget that heavy armor like SA has encumbrance factors ... slows your movement speed, so Archon Plate is Light and has great defense.

Not sure if this still applies with D2R
