Unheard Of Classic Builds

before i even get into what i want to talk about i want to describe 2 match ups first

1. barb vs cold sorc

a senario where the barb has such high cold resistance and replenish he really cant be killed or really even notice his life going down and his movement speed
is just to over much but the unseen thing about this whirl wind barb is he actually does not kill you with whirl wind he kills you with a level 1 name lock
of really any skill, the reason he uses a level 1 skill instead of whirl wind is because name lock auto pulls him to you at maximum speed like a hack and
makes it so there is no human error on a missed whirlwind or just in general an over all slowed delay on ww it is much better to just run up to the sorc
and swing as this is errorless

2. the bleed throw amazon

as bad as amazons are let alone a bleed one throwing javas at you just bleeding you out, bleed ticks for around 300 damage at level 91 or so
a simple hit and run with a 0 dmg java the java can still hit run hit run hit run and bleed a player out

now those are the two senarios i want to articulate and transforum into these other builds i want to talk about we are going to be combining them into one
now first off picture that same barb vs sorc instead of running up to the sorc and hitting her with melee damage lets just say hes using a javalin instead
doing no damage but instead takes 300 of the sorceress health via bleed or gnasher

again that is also not what i want to talk about but i do want to make sure everyone understands the above senarios to try to get a vision of what i will
be talking about and referring to here

so here we are going to talk about 3 builds

sorc------ melee/throw sorc
paladin--- melee/throw paladin
barb ----- melee/throw barb

which are all unheard of in classic no one uses anything like that that would be nuts and would never work before i dive into them im going to dive into
the bleed amazon alittle bit i want to talk about her for a moment

well basically amazon sucks she doesnt have any crazy skills or anything to really make her benifit from this and her movement speed sucks she doesnt
have any movement speed skills so when you are on a throw bleed amazon speed barbs can just hunt you down and quickly kill you while you dodge and run
for your life kiting and microing avoiding everything you can while this does seem to be anoying and fun if you can get a lower movement speed barb or
medimum for fair play once a big movement speed character comes into the picture its kinda like blah, high movement speed for the paladin doesnt do wonders
like it does for the barb but yeah the lack of AR skills and just generally other useful skills

dodge avoid evade are pretty good but rather lack luster now back to the picture

sorc------ melee/throw sorc
paladin--- melee/throw paladin
barb ----- melee/throw barb

lets talk about sorceress's skills first, now what i want you to imagine is the barb vs sorc match up mentioned above where the bvs has the sorc name locked
as she teliports around with a level 1 skill

1. Blaze - 2 movement speed per level so right off the bat 20skill points here will get us 40% movement speed
40% blaze
30% boots
5% hawkmail after malus 75% movement speed sorceress we need a huge chunk of cold resistance so we would only be able to go irath vs a fireballer for the 100% movement speed sorc

in order to get strong replenish+cold resistance the rest of the gear will pretty much need to be cold resistance and replenish and bleed while this is a tough match up i do think
it can still be done interesting tho

the sorc has some of the highest movement speed in the game with blaze a throw - sorc running from a barb would be extremely reliable considering you would have more faster run walk then a barb
would is quite wild lets dig alittle deeper

interesting sorceress has a skill that provides some sort of attack rating - enchant, now look i think theres many ways to build this and at the end of the day i think that all of the damage
is basically going to be coming from BLEED however, enchant here is a nice twist adding some damage and attack rating

option 1. you go only enchant just for the attack rating and you do not use warmth or fire mastery, abuse it for only its attack rating and hybrid elsewhere

option 2. interestingly blaze and enchant have the same synergy = warmth so its nice that by actually going something like

20 blaze
20 enchant
20 warmth
20 firemastery

fire-wall would likely be the next best thing there to get strong damage as firewall synergy is also warmth

or if u want to focus more on melee going something in the eshield/telekinesis area prehapse for sorc vs sorc melee sorc vs caster sorc
might be better and interestly enough since you are a melee/throw sorceress it might sound odd but i dont see a big deal in your eshield breaking
its not like you need mana to cast your skills meaning i think you could get away with no to low points in telkinsis and you have a high warmth
so yeah

its nice with the whole hit run hit run bleed thing that not only are you enchanted by you also have
a weird max damage blaze that is making fire everywhere and well a barb would have to chase you through
that blaze

next lets move on to the barb next shall we

barb ----- melee/throw barb

once again unlike the amazon you have another character who can get 40+base movement speed before even adding gear making these throw characters get out of control
not to mention the MASSIVE life difference between a barb and an amazon and well sorceress as you can prolly hit upper of 4000-5000 life with a throw barb
this is a massive amount of hit points and honestly hit and running with an amazon and a barb is the same exact thing a barb just has much more life speed and other things

so first things first, the elephant in the room

Throwing Mastery - i honestly think this is a fake skill it really
only gives attack rating we will likely not be going with a mastery we will take a look at it last see if theres anything else we want
instead

lets start with

20 battle orders
20 increase speed (even tho we might consider slightly less for diminishing returns)
level 1 whirl wind for movability techs
13 nat res or something like that

we have alot of left over skill points so heres what im thinking first off there is multiple ways to go

but first i want to say no one on classic uses frenzy, like ever its never used well we are going to be using it here
with two throw weapons that do 0 dmg but we are going to melee with them to get the buff

note
dont go anywhere near diminishing returns
damage = fake
attack speed = fake
attack rating is real but at an unknown cap based on a few variables but likely useful and would depend on exactally
which match up we are in and if we would be able to use angelics or not

what we are looking for on frenzy is only the movement speed a level 1 frenzy gives 47-68 movement speed
level 1 is enough but we will be going higher and we will not be maxing out synergies to frenzy so

less then a level 8 frenzy so even if u had only a level 1 frenzy i think that 47-68movement speed is pretty nice

when we attack a player though we are going to be using the level 1 skill conc or berserk these were the skills used PRE-D2R to name lock the sorceress with the level 1 skill PRE-D2R
now that they are in D2R they have gotten a buff both get 10% damage per level from battle orders, so for 25 years it worked with conc only doing 75% dmg, now since battle orders is a synergy on D2R
nd does 10% bonus it does 275% at a level 1 with out adding any extra skills because we get it from battle orders, with that being said i really dont wanna rely on physical damage too much meaning putting on
a god weapon at the end of the day that physical damage bonus isnt going to be much if we are just rocking a 0 dmg throw weapon or gnasher because of this take which everyone gives more AR and if u ever have skill points
left over and are considering throw mastery remember that 8% ar % is the only real number the other stuff is fake-adds crit,peirce all that junk, sucks does nothing so if ur considering leveling something up for AR% your
going to want to go with what ever gives you the highest AR%

8 frenzy
28 skills remaining
how about for this variation we will go
20 leap 15.3 knock back radius this will really help us be anoying a leap bleed throw knockback barb with 5klife and 100 movement speed
around 9 skills left give or take
lets put them in
increased stamina
now increased stamina aint shit but this has never been used on classic and is new in D2R so i figured lets try it
in this version of the build why not it will be used to add an additional 3-4 seconds onto our frenzys uptime

honestly a lower leap or frenzy and stamina and just dumping all of the stats into
20 shout to actually tank if a ww barb does hit you is actually really useful also

or if you would like easy of access with attack rating gear for better gear switches instead of like angelics
or what ever throw mastery maybe better double throw is also interesting as it out performs throw mastery
in both ar and damage but requires you equip two throwing weapons

and just to be clear we will not always be using 2 throwing weapons there is many switches that we will be going
through id likely only use 2 throwing weapons when having fun chasing a sorceress with 200% movement speed

vs a barb and stuff like that we would be using a shield etc anyways enough of the barb lets look at the last char
the throw paladin

paladin--- melee/throw paladin

once again the paladin has a strong health pool and strong movement speed skills

honestly speaking of which you could technically switch for some of the none throw related match ups like vs a sorc
where i just plan on melee name locking like u could gnasher or something if you wanted to but a throw weapon
would also work ud just have to use different gear thats to be said about the sorc and barb and paladin builds
gnasher-sback-boneflesh we will switch between all of them depending on what we are fighting

anyways back at it

kinda crazy cause with just 20vigor and 1 charge +bleed ur pretty much going to be able to kill everything
anything past here is just bonus

holyshield+defiance are options

fanaticism is a nice and never used option in classic
but honestly most of it diminishes hard or is fake
we can really only use a small amount of attack speed
and attack rating from the list and attack rating only gives 5% per

blessed aim gives 15% per and some pavise im looking at only like
a level 3 fana or so

maybe some resistance skills

hell looking at this now i mean honestly you could also go a normal hammerdin build also
20 hammer 20 conc 20 vigor 20 blessed aim and just switch ur gear around to throw-bleed

and basically be a maximum damage hammerdin holding a throwing weapon i think this is alittle more boring
and against my point here of a throw character but i mean u could throw up the hammers vs like a barb
hes not going to want to go in the hammers and while that waiting game is happening you can be
just range-chunking his health with bleed-throw and even potentially crushing blow many builds
and combinations

rcage+sback 1 throw at a 5000 life barb would prolly take 700-1300 health from him about 1/5th his health

and he really cant do anything except run into your hammers

i will say i do kinda like the whole pure throw barb thing more but players who want to just test
by switching instead of making a whole new character this is a great way anywho tho

i will say that i am worried about a 20holyshield 20defiance while i do think this is great
and you could actually get the equip on to pull it off prehapse i am alittle worried about
being a movement speed heavy based type of character with such heavy movement speed
you have 0 defense while running so i do feel like its counter productive

i didnt get into gear VERY much here alittle bit but not to much mainly because there is so many
switches of things ud want to switch in and out depending on what ur fightning

you do want some IAS but dont worry if its not capped in all match ups ussually ias is pretty
easy to get though and with these builds we have alot of extra skill points left over

svs - melee bleed lock like ur name locking a sorceress in bvs with conc
svb - 100frw hit run bleed with decent fire damage unlikely the barb can catch you
svn - enchant a merc and teliport around him until he dies as you spam firewalls on him
svz - try meleeing it if its a bow if its a java you might be in trouble lol firewall it
at the end of the day you could have thunderstorm with a melee sorc also which would handle a java
svp - 100frw throw sorc

bvs - name lock it with replenish and cold res gear and maybe frenzy gnasher or throw
bvz - name lock it with gnasher and frenzy and maybe another melee weapon? or throw melee
bvn - spirit leap cancle throw replenish run this aint going to work very well
bvp - 100frw throw run
bvb - 100frw throw run

pvs - 100frw throw weapon charge lock or gnasher
pvb - 100frw throw bleed
pvn - might be ways to win this but i dont really think its happening with just bleed like the other matchups every other match up we are winning with pretty much nothing but bleed
pvp - 100frw throw bleed
pvz - 100frw charge bleed

well, hey hey hey thats about it folks i do think that these builds work very well and i do think they have never been seen before on classic
and i also think that imo they seem very fun, esp like a melee/throw sorc this sort of thing being viable is unheard of viable is the question tho
honestly i think adding 100frw to any character is going to make that user extremely powerful, at the end of the day the only real reason there is
so much trouble handling a barb is because he can have 100 movement speed so yeah
