Dmg is only from +skills and synergies
Then you can increase your dps output by reducing the target’s DR% and/or reaching the next fcr breakpoint (although 105 is better than 200 else you sacrifice +skills)
So… using ereaper on merc helps a lot your dmg.
But it also means no insight, so big mana problems.
A way to fix your mana sustain without insight?
Get more base mana = also more regen
1x hoto + 1x spirit 112 mana is a solid approach
Losing 1 skill isn’t much dmg loss anyway compared to 2x hoto.
This is setting you at 75fcr already
Add arach and 20fcr amy you’re at 105 (best breakpoint)
This is freeing up your other gear slots to get more mana and +skills.

+6 warcry helm with 2x pSaphires
Yeah mana would be massive problem without insight merc.
Spirit swords help since they have huge mana.
105 fcr is the way to go.
I use pit singer on single player and wanted to maximize mf so I use Shako, hoto, suicide branch, 3wc/mf gambled amulet, 2x nagel, chance guard, Arach, travs, enigma and then merc is using eth insight thresher, eth treachery, guillaumes. Player 1 this runs pretty fast. You slow down some on the stone skin but merc takes care of them well.
I switched my spirit sword out with hoto so I could grab the extra skill for increased item find percent chance and increase warcry damage but I took a massive hit to mana and so I drink mana potions quite frequently even with insight merc so I couldn’t imagine a non-insight merc
