You can do the killing yourself, then switch to 2 x blade of ali baba, or 2 x 6 lem crystal swords. If you carry them all the time, you don't deal any damage, but get more gold% from merc kills. The key is to get him good geared and play optimalized so that he kills fast and you don't get in harm's way.
They say leap works best, i personally think war cry is best, it requires a bit more handling, but when you get the experience and routine optimalized, it is faster and less work-y.
