One question, what kind of weapon does a barbarian use in Classic? A mace?

yes mace

Usually a rare Martel De Fer is highest damage in 2 hand weapons available for pvp but a unique Bonesnap will do fine for PVM

Martel De Fer, Executioner Sword, Lance for 2 hander
1 hander they use Battle Hammer

Aim for 170+ ed with attack rating/str/-req/life or mana leech adds (any of these)
