My girl and I are new to the game and trying to lvl up. Also need to be able to start fighting. What’s the best strategy to go about for new comers? Can anyone give advice for new comers or links for YouTube that will help us?

Play sorc + summoner

Sorc will be used for teleporting the summoner and his army around, sending tps.
Max enchant and its synergies, to enchant the whole army and the 2 merc.
Cast static field to lower all the monsters hp to a point where the enchanted skeletons will kill their target very fast.
The summoner can increase the kill speed by casting Corpse Explosion.

This strategy can easily complete the game even if both characters are naked and without any experience.

Sorc :
Max enchant, warmth, fire mastery, static field, teleport

Necro :
Max skeletons, skele mastery, Corpse Explosion, Amplify dmg

Keep the items that seem good along the way. You’ll need time to understand what is good or not, but this 2 class combo can’t go wrong at start even with the worst items.
Once you’ve found a few good looking items start over with 2 other classes that can make use of those items.

You’ll learn from your mistakes and get better over time

Both play summoner Necro.

The other part: Amazon bowa.

You: Necromancer summoner.

This way, you can cast amplify damage n provide shelds from summons, i.e. safety, then the bowa can deal focused damage, focus purely on physical damage to increase damage as much as possible.

It's something i've been wanting to test a long time.

Rememeber to get two different types of act 2 merc. Get two different auras.

If you play old d2lod, i.e. not d2 resurrected, remember to google quest bugged boss runs, which will increase drop rates from bosses significantly. And focus mostly on diablo runs to lessen irritation of running wrong paths in labyrinths. Chaos sanctuary is so much less frustrating. Diablo can be a hassle, but get the routine down and he's easy enough. I must have run a million times around him lol. Or at least a million steps kiting.

Necro with amp and corpse explotion and summons.
Then kicksin or barb or bowa.

Thats a fun combi that works.

Use the items you find, and usually for pvm its best to focus a little narrow. Putting skills everwhere etc may leave you with to low damage, but there are hybrids and spells which works very well together, and there are «1 point wonders» skills.

Crushing blow is nice for the melee guy, and its further helped with necro amp.

I mean you actually agree wth me on something. It must be a full moon .. the crack of dawn is coming out. How cool is that.

It's the ladder start soon, and i've been trying to make this team happen many times the last years, get something like 5-6 bowas, focus on that, then 1 paladin to get aura, and 1 necro with summons n cast amp. Now you get 5-6 focused dommage dealers with damage auras and critical strike n amp on top. Bosses wouldn't last a minute. I mean i've heard about multi shot from many bowaas crazhing the game, but listen to this: Every bowa simply use guided arrow. At the beginning, you typically get low attack rating, so focusing on guided arrow, yes you get less arrous, but every arrow will hit, i've done this before at ladder start. Mana is an issue, but one does not have to use guided all the time, use it sparingly and mostly on bosses n such. Can simply use normal attack too at times. Just keep the flow going.

But haven't found anyone yet lol. One season i got 1 person ^^ Good stuff. But it's okay. I've not gotten not used to doing leader season on solo lol. Reminds me of a cool video that made me laugh hard ^^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nz05wh6tAE
