I’m running a Javazon with a budget Lightning Fury setup - Merc has Insight and a spirit monarch.

I’m looking to juice it up by dropping mob lightning res even more.

Torn between sticking Infinity on the Merc or grabbing a Phoenix shield for myself. Which one’s the better play here? I know they don’t stack, so no point in doubling up, right?

Also, mana’s fine now with Insight + spirit monarch - will Infinity mess that up, or am I good?

I used to have a good build example by but changes PC and lost bookmark.

Infinity on merc, spirit on yourself and you can use silkweave and a mana leech ring to be good enough on mana.

Phoenix is not a good shield, is just a lazy shield to not pot but it adds 0 to the build.

+1 phoenix bad. and prioritize eni before infy if you don't have it already

Switch: CTA+Spirit or (if BO barb) Another set of either Titan's or thunderstroke plus Spirit Monarch.

Gear Options:
Thunderstroke + Griffon's eye with 5/5 facet (weapon has 15ias) will net you a higher DPS. Though you will be sacrificing some utility like having to repair often and ML/LL is less efficient. If you go this route I would recommend some MEAK from Silkweave
If you like to reach the 99FCR BP I can recommend arach + extra fcr ring with an cham in griffon's eye.
Thundergod's is great to use in areas with souls like WSK and Plains of Despair

One Java Lifer can be changed for a Gheeds

Mercenary - Act2 Might (to boost phys dmg for ML)
Infinity Eth Mancatcher/Thresher/GT
Chains of Honor COH Eth AP
Cure Eth Corona/Spired/Demonhead/Bone Visage

Skills:
Max: Charged Strike > Lightning Fury > Lightning Strike > Power Strike
1 point into Piercing and Evade
End off with maxing Lightning Bolt (will be reached at lvl 99)*

Stats:
Enough Strength and Dexterity to wear gear.
Rest into Vitality.

Notes:
The 9%ML from gear should be enough to keep your mana filled up in higher players count.
I do not recommend using 6/40 or JMOD for PvM. It boosts your damage but you will lose to much utility in the end.
Phoenix shield is again not my recommendation. You will lose to much utility not using spirit. If you for some reason prefer it, thunderstroke is a no brainer.
It's always good to keep an extra pair of javelins in cube or stash.
