Hello

Have actually never played a werewolf druid and started pvming a bit with a friend.

Have heard that shields are not good for werewolves and that some mods from gear do not apply when I switch to wolf.
Sounds like something similar to kicksins.
Which are those mods?

Yeah I’m not sure what is being referred to here. Can’t really help much here other than to say for pvm, using a 2handed weapon is generally very good (ebotd archon staff for example), so maybe that can clarify the shield comment.

In LoD shield use is extremely trash. There are a couple of reasons for that. 1) Block lock. It's bad. In a mob you can get stuck blocking and get wrecked especially by mobs that use stun attacks. 2) No one handed option can achieve the damage possible with a two handed weapon.

In D2R, case 1 has changed somewhat. They changed the way blocking works so block lock is a lot less common. Against an Urdur type mob you'll still feel it though. Really if you want to use a shield I'd recommend zero points into dexterity to keep blocking low while utilizing shield stats like damage or resistances. But case 2 still applies. Two handed weapons are superior. Keep feral rage charged and go to town with massive damage.

Ty for your replies :)
And I see now that shields are actually an option at d2r.

Essentially what I am asking is if all mods/affixes of my whole gear are being conveyed to my wolf form.
For example, I think that at vanilla, any ias boost I was getting from any gear, apart from the weapon, was useless.

thats not correct to begin with. weapon ias was more important than off-weapon ias for fury, but both were considered (which is even mentioned on AB). all other mods are calculated correctly
