if i am starting at level 1 and doing a playthrough with a group
what i like to do is i like to leach for the first 5 and just wack stuff and melee stuff as normally i dont have alot of mana anyways
and i like to leach until i am level 6, at this point i start spending all my points on static
when i hit level 12 (i should have extra points saved up) everytime i level i put a point in static+nova
so all my points are in nothing but static and nova
if you are playing solo and cant leach until level 6 id recommend going charge bolt instead of nova
now, at level 24 blizzard is going to be your best option, however, i personally like to stick with static/nova
for a few reasons the reasons are is because i like to keep alot of extra skill points so later i can add them to enchant
so i end up having something like, 9nova 20static 1teliport 20enchant+enchantsynergies or something like that
i do this so i can enchant a friend or another character i want to play with like a barb with out ever having to do a respec
and also if i want to skip nightmare chaos and be in hell chaos at level 40 with a team killing hell trav is alot easier with static
if i dont care about respecs i just respec
thats how i do the walkthrough... now once you walkthrough or get rushed, what u want to do to clear hell chaos is at level 24
you want to get blizzard 1 point teliport 1 point static and just max out blizzard thats pretty much it, if u want to be able to clear
hell chaos by the time ur level 40 in an 8 player game u are going to need ur skill quests done when ur a low level and its alot easier with battle orders
(edit) if you are doing the walkthrough heres a few mentions when you are around level 15, you want to check normal act 2 vender for
a cheap 30/20 bone shield 60block at 15 is GG especially to teliport rush yourself and they also have very cheap 2sock boneshield also which
40ctb and 38all res once pdia's are put in there is prolly actually even better then a ward shield when you consider not adding all the strengh for ward
other then that when you hit around low 20's you can also shop a 20FCR wand from the venders aswell even get some with 40+resistance 20fcr 40res
that are very cheap, these are pretty common so id avoid buying any that take up all ur gold just keep resetting vender a few times until u find a cheap
one
actually importain ima throw in is once you hit nightmare act1 nightmare act1 is the place i vender all of my gear that i need to clear hell chaos
as its basically better then iraths-gear and very cheap and you have access to it asap the main peices you are looking for in the vender are
fire and lighting resistance boot,glove,belt3x4/4x4/helm,armor, which is all super cheap can be bought with less then 50,000 gold not super hard to find
either might take 5-10minutes much more common then shopping a scepter or a 30/20 pris bone etc
now, in terms of leveling what you want to do to level the fastest the best thing you can really do is not clear the whole chaos
not only not clear it all but also dont kill diablo, the reason why is seis is not only hard to kill at a low level but seis and diablo
do not really give an exp, so any time spent killing seis,+diablo do not actually become good until you are level 94
so what u want to do is attack SV'S SC'S special venoms and special casters in the chaos so teliport through and just target sv's and sc's
and left and right seal, once these have all been cleared u want to skip seis, skip diablo and go to a new game
you pretty much never want to kill diablo until you are level 93 or 94 or something like that so id recommend skipping seis and diablo
until you are 93, however this is extremely unlikely uncommon and ur never going to see this as any group is going to be killing diablo
but its just for you to note that its better for you to be attacking a SV then it is for you to be attacking Seis in terms of exp per hour
skill points and gear
as far as gear goes your main focus on ur gear is to worry about 40FCR breakpoint and later upgrading to 70fcr breakpoint
now a strong focus is to not worry about 2 stats, ignore +skills and ignore faster hit recovery, all you want to focus on is resistance
and block an item like noak amulet for fire resistance and maximum fire resistance is god damage reduction, and rarely ever beatable,
now your goal is to make sure that you have alot more then 85 75 75 75 all res, because you need to make sure you have 85 and 75 maximum
resistance on while lower or and both conviction is on you, lower =-55 conv =-75 so those are your goals increasing damage reduction is always
pretty much going to be superior to any other stat such as defense,fhr,skills,etc
also
its good to note that as far as faster hit recovery goes, you only go into stun animation if you lose a certain% of your life to begin with so
if you are very tanky with 0fhr you should not be getting stunned as they are not removing enough of your health
skills i sort of went over this its just going to be maximum blizzard nothing else
however
the 1 key thing in this build as far as skills go to mention is Glacial SPIKE, this is basically the best pvm sorc move in the game
the reason why is it offers very high surviability ok so
it is very importain that you are spamming gspike alot, as it is an Area of affect freeze. that offers very high survivablility
as i ussually just jump into a deadly group spamming gspike but remaining unharmed- the lack of spamming gspike is giving up massive survivability
and the big part about this is it doesnt even need to be a high level, what i am saying is even if you wernt using blizzard right, lets say you
were using orb and only had a level 1 gspike, i would still be casting a level 1 gspike more then any other skill by far, because it would be
AOE freezing everything keeping me safe, the lack of this tactic makes you alot weaker.
so once you hit level 94 what you want to do is you want to start doing split-seals as at this point basically the only thing in the game
that will give you EXP is diablo himself so at this point u want a team to split and kill all seals quickly release diablo and kill him for the exp
as hes the only want to get exp 94-99 diablo runs
so i think that pretty much sums it up 1-93 seals+sv's 94-99 diablo
