Been trying to find a guide for this build as I know its not a unique idea, but can’t seem to find one that’s actually for this build. Pretty sure it’s bm in most arenas due to the excessive rep life, but I remember it being one of the strongest builds out there for PvE back in the day.

Thinking of a 95% es lightning sorc for pvp with a focus on getting good rep life and some flat pdr/mdr.

Weapon: Hoto for the obvious reasons, but the +20 rep life is key
Shield: Gerkes for +15 rep life, mdr, pdr and resists. 7 fhr/rep life/-15 req jewel
Armor: Viper for the fcr and mdr. 7fhr/rep life jewel
Helm: Rare 2/20/2 circ w/ str/mana/rep. 2x7fhr/rep life jewels
Amulet: crafted fcr amy with rep life + mana. Amy + belt fcr needs to be 27+
Belt: crafted fcr belt w/ 24 fhr, rep life, str/mana/life. Any + belt fcr needs to be 27+
Boots: crafted mana boots w/10 fhr and rep life
Gloves: frosts
Rings: 2xsoj


Total rep life can reach 60+ easily and the mana pool should be able to reach 6k+ easily as well with proper gear and charms.

Wondering if anyone is still gearing anything similar and how it does.

The flat mdr/pdr from gerkes + viper is decent but nothing crazy, wondering if it really makes a big enough difference if this is a full mana build with a pretty low life pool.

Lightning doesn’t work well in pvp.

The slower cast frames make it poor as compared to fire ball.

Nova is poor because you gotta stomp with it when it has low damage and is easy to stack lightning resist against it.

Charged bolt doesn’t do enoguh damage.


It can do ok in pubs for when people aren’t expecting it. But vs anyone that knows what they are doing, you are going to lose a ft5 decisively

That first bit seems like a pretty bold blanket statement especially when 2 of the top 3 sorc’s on the svs ladder are light sorcs.

I do understand a vita sorc built for svs is gonna stomp this, but that’s not really the point. Not sure if pub duels really exist enough at this point to warrant PvE builds at all, but that was the point of this.

Are people even doing 4v4 allowing sorcs as well or is it purely fpk now?

It’s an accurate statement.

You never said for svs only.

But by far, esfb are the best vs all sorc build.

Is the same build as stated viable as an esfb build? Assumed going 95% es as fb wouldn’t make sense

I guess the rephrase the entire question:

Using the same setup although different mod focus, is a gerke’s based MB esfb sorc viable?

ES is so viable now due to changes to FHR, that ES sorcs are genenraly banned in all class leagues for example.

While yes Gerkes is viable in esfb, Max block is genenraly bad due to how much mana and damage you give up across the board. Your typical spirit build is going to be much more well rounded than a Gerkes build as with spirit, you get more damage and tons of gear flexibility when coupled with hoto.

Not to mention you can make a very good ESFB with primarily runewords and uniques, making them very cheap to build while being extremely effective vs basically every class.

The change in fhr and wsg made it so that you can’t really ever pin down an ES sorc. Making them easily get away from danger and quickly regen their life and mana from high level warmth and life rep, while also having faster casting and action frames than all other classes, allowing them to easily teleport away and stay out of danger.

The genenral esfb build will be:
Hoto
Spirit
Enigma
Arach
Frost burn or magefist
2/10fcr amulet with high mana and life rep
2x soj
Shako or rare circlet with sockets and mana etc or a 2 sorc / 25 iDR /2 socket magic circlet or 3 fire / 25 iDR / 2 socket or 3 fire / 100 life / 2 socket circlet < tons of flexibility here
Boots can be just about anything

Can swap arach for tgod vs lite chars and use magefist or 2/20/2 circlet.

Very easy to swap around simple items to make your opponents life difficult

i would go esfb. i personally dont like the slow castanimation. its still rly strong just feels like im lagging when i play lightsorc



yes and its super bm. just make an immortal sorc and afk if u wonna cheese ppl. 60rep on es sorc xd
