I want to make a holy fire paladin using flickering flame and phoenix. Any thoughts or suggestions about if it will work or what my other attack should be? I’ve seen holy fire used early on for zealers, but I’m wondering if I can get holy fire to GG status and use it in hell.

Just watched MrLlama talk about this in a video and it turns out it is more than possible. I know what I’m doing next

what makes fire auradins sort of viable is their ability to stack holy fire auras from double dragon and hoj. phoenix doesn't fit into that equation, so it'll just be a worse version of the standard (and already bad, non-tele) build

Yes It's a lot like an auradin. But your typical auradin is using holy fire dragon, hoj and holy shock with dream. So dual auras fire and lightning.
This all holy fire based din is basically like an auradin but not using any holy shock or dream runewords.

Yeah I gathered that from what Mr Llama said. It seems like a solid build. He was clearing players one using just his aura. I think if you mix this with zeal it will be super solid.

I’ve made all 3 auradins and straight holy shock or straight holy fire is better than putting em both on one pally. It seems counterintuitive but I swear the hybrid kills stuff slower.






You should definitely try this and please quote me so I can read about how good it was. Hoj + dragon + Phoenix + flickering flame sounds pretty cool. I’d go with zeal and charge as main attacks.

Mr Llama said Hybrid was slower too. I think infinity merc, flickering flame and level 44 holy fire with sunder is what works best.

Self cast aura will do more zeal damage through being able to get a higher skill level,
But the aura will be weaker as it will tick once, self cast aura is better for higher play count where the aura tick isn’t enough anyways.

even with lvl 44 fire aura and lvl 26 conviction on players1 non ladder
i need three ticks to kill fire imunes and eight ticks for diablo
- but the zeal dmg is awesome...

raven frost ring
torch/anni/flame rift

rare leech resi ring / wilhelms pride / eth trek -> these three things could be much better...
- also my inventar could be filled up with fire dmg or max dmg charms
