I have an ES Nova sorc which does well, but I would love to play an ES Cold sorc. I’ve read through the Sticky guides and there are some blizz/fireball ES PvP guides, but nothing on PvM. Does anyone have a recent/not outdated PvM ES guide for cold / fire? Primarily trying to find the best survivability while trying to level to 99.

You could put an Ed cta on swap and put left over points into telekinesis instead of warmth but then your mana regen will be kind of crumby. Nothing else about the build would really change though unless you want to give up a bunch of dmg to go 95 es.

The reason why there are no guides for it are it’s just not as good as vita for pvm. You’re going to have to give up something for the survivability. If you’re fine chugging mana pots you can give it a go though

That makes sense. Perhaps I should just change gear in my blizz sorc and swap out a blizz Ormus for CoH, and a Nightwing for Shako?

I did this build on the previous hardcore ladder and it did very good. Never got in trouble. Old, but was surprisingly good.

the reason why (self-wielding Infinity) es nova is viable in pvm is because merc can wear Insight, enabling high mana regen even in cases of mana burn hits

without Insight on merc, mana burn hits are going to get you in danger

es pvm builds only really work when you've got 35+ skill points to spare. that's the case with nova sorcs and pure orb sorcs, but definitely not on a fb/orb hybrid. can't think of a single build outside of nova and pure orb where es would be worth it tbh.
