Looking for a guide for a pvp light sorc.

nova catches people off-guard due to conviction. a standard lightning sorc won't do any damage to anyone with even a tiny bit of res stacked

Standard light sorc will do a lot more than infinity if they have stacked res so in general infinity is better in pubs where people are less likely to stack and non infinity is better vs prepared players

either 1 point es, or enough for 95%es after however much prebuff you can stomach

Also, a light sorc is quite slow compared to a FB sorc, because the 117 FCR breakpoint for lightning is a few frames slower than fire.

117 FCR is 12 frames for lightning.
105 FCR is 8 frames for fireball, which gives a much better chance of catching someone in your spam of fireballs.

I haven't played a light pvp sorc, but I'd assume that it's harder to play well than the standard fireball sorc.

In pubs nova with crazy high es and infinity u can fet away with, if u are dueling using any kind of ruleset tho lightning is not very viable since there caps on es, thunderstorm, infinity etc. even still i would go 200fcr and spam charged bolt and hope i can hit with lightning instead of teleing on someone with a glass nova sorc.
