Haven't been on in a year or so, is chaos / baal still the best way from 98-99 or is there a better way?

chaos/baal with a party has always been the slow way to do it.

1) Join full game (usually baal runs)
2) solo clear chaos sanc until around level ~93
3) after that solo clear TZs in full baal games.
4) if someone else is trying to clear there too just stay about 2 screens away so you get bonus exp without having to share it. A lot of the time the people wont know about the bonus exp of having multiple party members in the same areas so they might hostile you so just kill them if they do

ps the old way involved solo killing diablo and nilth while in full baal games (and then joining the party for the baal kill) after lvl 96 which was suuuper painful and slow

This. Solo clear baal waves at 94 is still better than TZs, though. Less crowded as well

Yea it’s just generally harder to find games to solo Baal runs in. You can try in chaos games but depending on who’s running they might finish before you get to wave 5. I would say doing solo Baal runs in cow games is viable but cow runners are usually too slow.

Generally in Baal games I can full clear chaos, kill Diablo and catch last 1-2 waves of Baal if I’m using one of the s teir builds.

Also if you’re doing baal runs I recomend clearing mobs in the side room in the throne between waves. You’ll usually be far enough away to get solo exp while still getting the p8 exp bonus in addition to the party members in the same area exp bonus as well. Do this in TZ baal runs and you’ll be getting around double the exp of everyone else in the runs

Actually, it's simpler to find games to solo baal than TZs. Most TZs would've already been wiped by levelers. I usually look for cow games, wipe the minions, look for next cow game, wipe minions. It's more efficient than TZs at that level

I just did solo TZ’s last night in a cbaal game and the xp was insane. Got like 1/5 bar of xp in 45 mins or so. That would have taken several hours of baaling before TZ’s existed.

I’m assuming finding consistent games to solo TZ will be difficult though.

I think I’d rather just do chaos runs since the monster level is the same. Less exp per pack but you can clear so much faster and it’s more engaging than waiting for Baal waves. Plus you can’t clear side rooms when solo doing Baal since he won’t spawn next wave unless someone is in the room.
Yea it can be tough but in my experience if you clear faster than anyone else running in the TZ they will either leave or hostile you. After you kill them they will leave.

If they stay then just clear separately if the area is big enough.
