1) Leap is safer but slower. Warcry requires more experience, but is faster when you get the routine down. Also requires a perfect internet connection, at least if you play hardcore.

2) Once again, when you become experienced in herding the members and stunning 80% of them with warcry in a bunch, you can start going down to wearing only ebotd for weapon, and then wealth and crown of thief with lem rune for max gold find. When you need him to survive a bit more, to increase your own experience with herding the members and getting the routine down, eth guardian angel and kira's guardian makes him proof to hydra damage, but can get him overwhelmed with physical damage. Other than that, i think that fortitude is the best option, because it increases the damage that much.

3) Again, when you get the routine down, going full gf% setup is optimal. 6 lem swords is what i aim for. Ali baba blades with ist runes is good too, getting some magic find isn't a bad thing. It depends on if you want to specialize in goldfinding or mix in magic finding. Usually i guess it is better to farm level 85+ areas for magic finding. They do say that enigma really speeds things up, and i can definitely see that. But even still, when you get to the members, you need to herd them a little bit, and in the time you've teleported in there and herded them into a bunch, my guess is you haven't really saved all that much time. The 300% extra goldfind means 50 000 - 100 000 more average each run. Speeding a 60 second run up to 55 seconds is about a 10% increase, meaning if you get 800 000 average gold, that's a 80 000 gold increase average. So i guess it evens itself out. But this is down to experience.

And last, i think there is a difference between softcore and hardcore.
