I compiled a basic table of polearm dps with reference to A2 Merc and common IAS totals.
Is the best dps as simple as the table below, or is weapon speed still important even in the absence of "on hit" effects?
I'm wondering how things like +strength and Merc's base damage factor into dps. Are these modifiers the reason some prefer the faster weapons?
I realize there is already a lot of discussion on this topic available, but there is also a lot of contradicting information out there. I'm hoping to make things a little clearer.

okay, I realize I forgot to factor in the effect of Jab ability (2x attacks at ~150% dmg). However, this shouldn't change the overall result for top dps polearm based on IAS. I still want to know if Giant Thresher or Thresher are superior even in builds that don't utilize "on hit" effects.
