Is a lightning sunder needed for FOH pally or does it help etc? I was curious if people ran them or if it even made a difference since you run conviction

Thanks

Yes, conviction and lower resist only work at like 1/5th efficiency vs any monster that has 100 or more of that resist

Example: Monster has 100 light resist, your current conviction level reduces resist by 150

150/5 = 30 and thus monster has 70 light resist now.

Any monster with at or above 130 light resist will not be pierced by 150 as 130-30=100

Now with sunder: every enemy now has a max of 95% light resist

Conviction still works only at 1/5th efficiency vs normally immune monsters

95 -30 = 65

Hey thanks for the info! And let’s say for example for nice round numbers you wear a griffon and have a few light facets for an additional -35% lightning resistance 150 conviction + 35 in gear ….a 100% lightning resistance monster would now be setting at 63% lightning resistance correct?

Also another question on the sunder let’s say a monster has 100% lighting resist does it only make that monster 95% resistance now tthe max 95% you were talking about? I guess what I’m asking is does the sunset really come into play then if the monster is a 130% resist like you’re talking about?

Also if you run a merc with infinity I know the extra conviction won’t do anything but would his additional let’s say -50% lightning resistance from weapon count? That was another thing I was curious about like you get the -% lightning resists from the Griffon and light facets

Thanks!!!

Pierce from facets and gear work at full effect vs a broken immunity (except cold mastery now, it was so strong with a sunder and free -150+ pierce that they had to nerf its effectiveness as well) so

A 100 light resist monster while you wear a sunder:

95 res - conviction at 1/5th effectiveness - enemy light resist on gear/facets

95 - 30 - 35 =30 light resist

Since conviction at maximum potency vs immunes is capped to -30% (150/5), any monster that has 130 or more lightning resistance will stay immune as piercing only works if they are no longer immune. So you want a sunder so that every monsters max light resist is now 95.

Awesome I understand now thank you! Did you see my other reply on this thread about the merc with infinity? That’s my only other idea/question I had been pondering
