I dont understand why eth if plain has no requirements ( i use no eth).

Im asking because every build recommends eth but thats a worse option. Wast 100+/- str and something dex for style points..

huh? if youre going to self-wield the infinity on a nova sorc, you want the lowest requirements possible since weapon damage is irrelevant. Not sure why youre talking about 100+/- in strength....
the only stat you care about is perfect -% to enemy light res.

ethereal is solely for style points. offers no real benefit, like an eth hoto or eth cta, eth wizspike, eth occulus etc...

Ethereal items have lower requirements then their non-eth equivalent. Not sure what youre getting at here....

A good build, will recommend an elite type ethereal base for infinity if it is to be equipped by your merc. He wants high weapon damage.

A good build, will recommend a normal type base for infinity, if it is to be equipped by your sorc because it will have really low stat requirements. Ethereal or not doesnt really matter and weapon damage is also irrelevant.
Again, in this case, the ethereal polearm with low requirements is just for style points. Not sure what is confusing about this...
